Reduce Domestic Violence
We took an important step forward protecting victims of domestic violence this week when the Judiciary Committee, where I serve, passed HB16-1066 which enforces tougher penalties for habitual domestic violence offenders.
It is my honor to co-sponsor the bill with Rep. Kit Roupe. The bill enforces higher penalties for habitual domestic violence offenders yet honors our constitution by providing appropriate constitutional protections of jury determinations in such cases. The bill passed the House Friday and will proceed to the Senate.
Golden Apple Award Ceremony
It was an honor to receive the Golden Apple of School Choice Award from the Colorado Coalition of Cyberschool Families during their legislative day at the Capitol on Tuesday. CCCF is a group of parents, educators, and advocates committed to online learning and public school choice.
It is part of my ongoing mission to advocate for the parents right and responsibility to direct the education and upbringing of their students.
