IREA Crews Working Several Weather-Related Outages East of I-25

November 17, 2015:

Line crews for Intermountain Rural Electric Association (IREA) are working to restore power as quickly as possible to multiple areas within its service territory. Due to heavy snow and high winds, IREA is experiencing outages in several locations including:

 - Elizabeth, Kiowa, Bennett, Strasburg and Deer Trail

There are also smaller outages throughout the Sedalia and Strasburg service districts. All IREA crews have been in the field working on outages since early this morning. Road closures and weather obstructions have impeded access to some areas in need of power restoration in some areas east of I-25.

"We want to let customers know we are aware of the outages and are working to restore power as quickly as possible," said Josh Liss, Corporate Affairs Manager for IREA. "We recognize how difficult a power outage can be for customers in this weather," he added.

No estimated number of customers impacted or time of service restoration is available at this time.

IREA will continue to provide updates through the duration of the outages via Facebook, Twitter and on its website at
